Mr. Brescher,
Please share with the readers what sort of education and experience you have that qualifies you to oversee the operations of an organization that employees 2,000+ people and operates with a yearly budget of $182,000,000. Have you ever been the member of the board of directors at any private corporation that employed 2,000 people and had a yearly budget of $182,000,000?

The big question is:
Do you and Tom Maras support the budget or not?

I do support the budget, I feel if it is voted down the town council will make deeper cuts and that is something that the students cannot afford.

Regarding the question from woodbridgenj, No I have not and as far as I know I dont think any other candidate has either. With my current businesses I handle many different aspects that I feel would help the current board.

“I do support the budget, I feel if it is voted down the town council will make deeper cuts and that is something that the students cannot afford.”
Feelings are not relevant. When the budget is voted down you will be forced to make cuts.
“Regarding the question from woodbridgenj, No I have not and as far as I know I dont think any other candidate has either.”
I appreciate your honesty. If it’s true that, like you, the other candidates do not have experience working with $100+ million budgets or working on the board of a 2,000+ member organization, that doesn’t bode well for the taxpayers OR the children. Woodbridge can’t afford on the job training at this time.

“We can’t afford on the job training at this time” — OK, so what’s the alternative?
These are the six candidates we have to choose from — there is no other option right now. Wish all you want, this is reality, unfortunately. You’ll have to use some other yardstick to choose your candidates April 20.

No offense to you, as your comments are thoughtful and perceptive; but-quite honestly, I would rather let “inexperienced” regular folks have a shot…you know, people who fret over an extra $100 bill to pay this month. I see it this way: On EVERY level (local/state/national), we’ve elected so-called “professionals”; you don’t need to be a political science major or genius to know that hasn’t worked out that well.
Further, I would restrict ALL elected positions, paid OR unpaid, to persons not receiving a taxpayer-funded paycheck or pension, as well as anyone who has relatives in similar situations. I know John Golden-he’s a good man-but, when (a) he’s on the township payroll, and (b) has relatives working for the district, any votes, decisions, or opinions he makes are going to suggest a conflict of interest, regardless of the circumstances.

You are right, anyone who has relatives working for the school district should not be allowed to be on the Board of Education
