Mr. Golden,
Please share with the readers what sort of education and experience you have that qualifies you to oversee the operations of an organization that employees 2,000+ people and operates with a yearly budget of $182,000,000. Have you ever been the member of the board of directors at any private corporation that employed 2,000 people and had a yearly budget of $182,000,000?

Mr. Golden, while your firefighting expertise is admirable and no one can say anything against it,the fact remains that you support the currently proposed school budget and you already have three members of your family employed in the township, makes me say NO to your candidicy for the B.O.E. We have to draw the line sometime and it sounds like you will be the same old, same old!
Sorry Mr. Golden, your probably a nice guy, not just for the Woodbridge B.O.E.

Same old Woodbridge BOE antics with the same results to come if a ‘budget supporter’ is elected.
I agree JohnnyP – this is not the guy we need.
I feel that anyone who runs for these types of positions and has family members who work for the school district, should be disqualified. Their votes/decisions are unfairly influenced.
Mr. Golden: you have a very impressive resume but we need someone who will be able to make fair decisions. I think that is impossible for someone who has family that works in the school district.

No offense to you, as your comments are thoughtful and perceptive; but-quite honestly, I would rather let “inexperienced” regular folks have a shot…you know, people who fret over an extra $100 bill to pay this month. I see it this way: On EVERY level (local/state/national), we’ve elected so-called “professionals”; you don’t need to be a political science major or genius to know that hasn’t worked out that well.
Further, I would restrict ALL elected positions, paid OR unpaid, to persons not receiving a taxpayer-funded paycheck or pension, as well as anyone who has relatives in similar situations. I know John Golden-he’s a good man-but, when (a) he’s on the township payroll, and (b) has relatives working for the district, any votes, decisions, or opinions he makes are going to suggest a conflict of interest, regardless of the circumstances.
