Driving challenge at Woodbridge mall to show parents, teens dangers of distractions
The sad fact remains, car crashes are the No. 1 killer of American teens, with nearly 5,000 teens killed and 300,000 injured annually.
According to a recent study by the Allstate Foundation, almost 90 percent of the teens surveyed said their parents were the biggest influences on their driving habits.
To help save lives and encourage families to make a pledge together to limit or altogether eliminate distractions in the car, Allstate is bringing the new Family Driving Challenge course to the Woodbridge Center mall at 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 25.
Parents and teens will compete to win prizes while learning first-hand how dangerous distractions can be while behind the wheel.
Teen drivers must be in high school and must have a driver's license.
Food and beverages will be served.

Will the challenge feature real vehicles? I know a lot of safe driving exercises opt for golf carts or simulators instead.
