Many questions over plans for East Jersey State Prison property – an open letter
EDITOR'S NOTE: The following is an open letter to local and state officials representing Woodbridge by township resident Donald Nelsen, of the Conservative Party of Woodbridge Township.
I read the articles in the press this past weekend that the state property across the street from East Jersey State Prison (EJSP) and the Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center (ADTC) is to be sold for $1 to Woodbridge Township.
I previously wondered why there was absolutely NO elected official opposition to bringing the sexual predators from Kearney to Avenel - forcing the closing of the state's most secure close-custody unit to do so. Now I know why: money over public safety and security. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.
What are your plans to address the wetlands issues with these parcels of land?
What are your plans to address lead contamination problems in the old indoor shooting range now used for EJSP storage?
Which connected developers will get development rights under pay to play practices?
What are your plans to address broken sewage lines which served the four houses and trailer on these land parcels?
Where is funding going to be found to move the EJSP Special Investigations Unit and Training Unit to other suitable buildings?
Where is funding going to be found to move EJSP and ADTC storage to other suitable buildings?
What/Who are you going to blame when the governor abolishes the Council On Affordable Housing (COAH) and eliminates funding to the judicial activism mandating the Mount Laurel decisions?
Other than more of the same, you don't have any plans, do you?
