Would Gov. Chris Christie cut Woodbridge schools superintendent’s salary?

Woodbridge Superintendent John Crowe
It is unclear whether Christie's proposal, which has yet to be introduced in the legislature, would affect Woodbridge superintendent John Crowe's $187,000 salary.
The salary scale under Christie's proposal is tied to district enrollment, with superintendents in charge of districts with up to 10,000 students earning no more than $175,000.
Superintendents in districts with more than 10,000 students -- such as Woodbridge, which enrolls nearly 13,500 students -- would have their salaries negotiated with the state Department of Education, according to Home News Tribune reporter Leo Rommel, who covered Christie's announcement in Spotswood today.
Amid a budget crunch this spring, Crowe voluntarily gave up a contractual 4 percent raise for next year. Other administrators at the district office also froze their salaries.
The district teachers union, however, declined to open their contract to freeze their salaries for a year, a move that would have saved about $2.6 million.
Other superintendents in Middlesex County earn more than Crowe, some more than $200,000.
• Richard M. Kaplan in New Brunswick makes $221,431
• John Rodecker in Perth Amboy makes $216,360
• Jo Ann Magistro in East Brunswick makes $209,500
• Simon M. Bosco in Old Bridge makes $205,000
• Robert L. Copeland in Piscataway makes $201,170

It is about time Christie took this issue on, but he needs to limit salaries for all school adminstrators and supervisors and cut many of them off of government payroll. There are too many making too much at our expense and it is just a racket! Also, how about preventing the ones that retire from getting hired at 600.00 per day as consultants. Christie, do you hear this?

I just got my tax bill and just like clock work since Mayor Mac took office, my taxes went up another $240 for the year. Just wait until we get into the golf business which is what the mayor wants to do instead of just changing the zoning to open space only. I’ve had enough of the constant tax increases every single year. Everyone who works for the TWP and the school system, just keeps making more and more money. God forbid they have to give up a little something like the rest of do. Time a change in Woodbridge in the next election because they believe they can keep raising taxes and were not going to say anything. It it high time that Mayor Mac and his town council puppets get put out to pasture, enough is enough. There are about 35,500 house holds @ $240 per is over 8 million dollars. This figure is not including all the businesses in town. That’s a lot of money for just one year, ridiculous. It has to stop.
