Woodbridge ambulance squad case to be moved from South River
WOODBRIDGE, NJ -- The trespassing charges against seven squad members remain in limbo.
Richard P. Klein, an East Brunswick attorney representing Avenel-Colonia First Aid Squad Capt. Carmen Parisio and his brother, Assistant Capt. Wayne Tasaki, says he is requesting that the case be moved from South River to another municipal court because of a conflict of interest with the judge.
The case had already been moved from Edison because Woodbridge officials doubted the case could be heard fairly in a township whose police department declined to pursue charges against the seven members.
It was a Woodbridge police detective who investigated and signed the complaint alleging they went into an old skating rink in Edison without permission.
“What jurisdiction does Woodbridge have? I'm at a lost to explain that,” Klein said.
Klein said the judge in South River, Emery Toth, is also a judge in Woodbridge, and that he will be filing a formal request to have the case moved again.

I don’t get this. Why are the Woodbridge police filing charges against anyone for a crime committed in Edison?? Aren’t there enough real crimes in Woodbridge to keep them busy? Or are we so awash in money here, or we have too many cops, and this is just busy work?
