‘Trust Woodbridge leaders.’ Why?
For those who read the “Trust Woodbridge Leaders on First- Aid Debate” in the Saturday, November 27, Community Voice Section of the Home News Tribune, they must have noticed it was reportedly authored by a Anthony Horta. Is Anthony Horta any relation to Maryann Horta, the head of personnel and purchasing in the McCormac administration?
Possible relationships and ulterior motivations notwithstanding, Mr. Horta’s argument for “trusting” the McCormac administration is, to be kind, weak at best.
If the McCormac Administration had all the information about the alleged happenings at the ACFAS, they certainly knew the matters were under criminal investigation. Why put the safety and welfare of an entire community at risk by closing the squad, while competent authorities had the charges under view? The answer to many is McCormac made a power play that blowup in his face. The ACFAS was no St. John’s.
How many other private or private, not for profit entities have to worry that John McCormac will find and fix problems with their businesses!
Look at all the empty stores in the township, our annual tax increases and the cost to the taxpayers to defend lawsuits McCormac has brought down upon on the community. And let us not forget the great job McCormac did in handling NJ State bonds, while he was State Treasurer. Now ask, is this ‘leadership’ YOU want to trust!
As to Mr. Horta being asked twice to sign the petition while going into and coming out of a store, so what. It could have been a simple mistake. In any event, as has been shown, by the diligent review of Mr. John Mitch, the Township Clerk, there were few, if any duplicate signatures. If any did occur, only one was counted; and, it had to be signed by a registered Woodbridge Township voter.
If Mr. Horta wants to trust his safety to John McCormac and the McCormac administration, let us hope he remains well and out of harm’s way. The rest of the community like, trust and want the tried and true First Aid squads that have severed Woodbridge Township for decades, without additional tax burdens!
