Woodbridge school board completes self-evaluation — what do they think of themselves?
At the most recent Board of Education Meeting, the Board announced that it had completed its most recent self evaluation, which would be made available through an Open Public Records Act (“OPRA”) request. A link to the Self Evaluation is below.
The document speaks for itself, but there are a few things to point out.
In Board Operations and Board Performance, at least one third of the current Board rated the items as Adequate or Unsatisfactory.
When reviewing whether Board Members ensure that all members have input into decisions, one third of the Board said this was Unsatisfactory and a majority of the Board said it was no better than Adequate.
Additionally, some of the comments were enlightening such as, “Some on the Board have their own agenda and act on that instead of what's best for the whole.”
I would encourage everyone to read this document in full. See if the Board’s Self Evaluation matches yours.

Thanks David for finding and posting this.
Other important notes:
One member felt some colleagues are micro-managing — “too involved in the day-to-day” — and suggested they leave that responsibility to the employees paid to run the district, the administrators.
Under Board Operations, several board members felt the board was willing to ignore superintendent recommendations that were unpopular with the public. Could they be referring to the busing issue?
