Man charged with dumping body of Nicholas Sorice in Iselin

The body of a Colonia man was found on Willow Street Wednesday morning.
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A New York man was arrested Friday and charged with dumping the body of a Colonia man on an Iselin street.
The body of Nicholas Sorice, 26, of the Colonia section of Woodbridge, was discovered Wednesday morning near the curb on Willow Avenue off Route 27.
Police charged Frank Barbaccia, 43, of Congers, N.Y., with failing to dispose of human remains as required by law. He also was charged with hindering his arrest by giving false statements to police. He was not charged with killing Sorice.
A cause of death still has not been determined and further tests will be conducted, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.
An investigation by Detective Edward Galinas of the Woodbridge Police Department and Investigator Adrian Villegas of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that Barbaccia left Sorice on the side of a road, believing he had died.
Officials did not say how Barbaccia knew Sorice or how the investigation led to Barbaccia.
Bail was set at $50,000 for Barbaccia, who remained in custody.
