Smash-and-grabs at 5 Fords businesses and 1 in Colonia on Tuesday
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — New Brunswick Avenue was a field of broken glass this week after thieves smashed through storefront windows of four businesses and tried opening the door of a fifth.
Police also are investigating whether another smash-and-grab in Colonia early Tuesday may be connected.
The burglaries occurred after midnight Tuesday. The unknown suspect or suspects grabbed nothing more than small amounts of money from cash drawers and, at Ling’s Kitchen on New Brunswick Avenue, a tip jar, police said.
Also hit on the avenue were Paul Sciortino Hairstylist, Fords Pizza and Liberty Bagel Café, as well as Super Duper Deli on King Georges Road.
The front door was kicked open at Quality Auto Center on St. Georges Avenue in Colonia where some money may have been taken from a desk drawer, police said.
