WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A 22 year-old Colonia woman confronted a burglar in her home after her dog’s barking woke her.

The suspect found the thief in her living room just after noon Monday and asked him what he was doing.

The man, described as being in his 20s, said he was looking for someone, but the woman told him that person didn’t live there and that he should leave.

The woman then called her mother and 911.

The man had tried to steal two laptops and some jewelry he had stuffed into a bag he found in a closet, but left behind the loot when he fled the Cypress Drive home.

Police said the man entered through a rear window.
