Hi Tom
Thank you for the vote of confidence, but I'm not really going to be in charge around here :) I have no idea what the future of Woodbridge InJersey will be now! I'm just an occasional contributor, like you. I guess I'll put things up once in a while, but unless they offer to pay me, which I doubt happens, that's as much as I can handle! :)
We'll certainly miss Sergio!

I think Mayor McCormac's ties to Governor Christie did not help the race; however, if in the same situation as Mac I doubt I would have done things differently. If the Governor called me up after the election and said I would like for you to be on my transition team I have would been honored, especially being of the opposite party. As most of us know in politics it is all about "what have you done for me lately?" Mac chose a strategic move to ensure Woodbridge have the best opportunity to receive municipal aide etc… that other towns with democratic mayors are not as privileged to receive. Shaking hands with the Governor when he comes to your town to do a town hall meeting…uh big deal.

With that said, I think McCormac was the one responsible for this loss. He is by far one of the most arrogant politicians currently playing in the game, extremely intelligent but devoid of any humility. It is that very arrogance that cost McCabe his election. McCormac has managed to infuriate almost every politician in the County, well there are his sheep that he hand picked that will bow at his feet at all costs, and this was their turn to dish out to Mac what he had them. Unfortunately Mac was not the biggest loser in this scenario it was Kevin McCabe an true inspiration for the Party, State Senator Barbara Buono, a leader in the Senate and now very far away from a Governor nomination, and the rest that stood with McCabe like Woodbridge’s own State Senator Joe Vitale, a voice for those very often not heard, that now must represent a district left fractured as a result of Mac’s many wicked games. It is a very sad day for Woodbridge and Middlesex County.

By all accounts, Peter Barnes, Jr., is a man of great integrity and high moral character. The Middlesex County Democrats were fortunate to have him as a candidate for the Chairmanship and wise enough to elect him to the positions.

Perhaps some, be they Democrat, Republican or other, reading the above article, and in particular the following, “Woodbridge Mayor John E. McCormac campaigned intensely for McCabe and managed to bring out 139 of the township's 146 committee seats to the convention. But the numbers were not enough to counter the pull of state Sen. Bob Smith of Piscataway and Woodbridge nemesis John Wisniewski, the state party chairman and assemblyman from Sayreville”, will see the McCabe/McCormac loss as a shift away from the McCormac style of politics.

It would be hard to imagine McCormac’s power and influence within his party has not be greatly diminished by the McCabe loss. Perhaps, it is a sign of things to come for McCormac, even in Woodbridge.

What this article fails to report is that Christopher lived here in the US for over 15 years. He went to elementary school, middle school, high school, and some of community college here in the United States. He took honors classes, played Varsity soccer, and went to prom. Bichao you did a really good job at making my friend appear to be a filthy, off the boat immigrant. He's so much more than this. He's a genius at mathematics, and an amazing soccer player with an altruistic soul. He's a decent human being, one of the best that I know in fact, who just happened to fall under the wrong influence in which he made some pretty neglegent decisions. I understand it was his behavior and his poor decisions that got him where he is today but I will stand 100% behind Christopher because I know the person he is. Yes, he should be taught his lesson, but he does not deserve to be sent back to Ecuador. He is so much more than a "number".

Ah yes...the arrogance of a Democrap-appointed "judge" knows no bounds...and, $160K-plus for a part-time job? Nice work if you can get it...

And, Mr. Robbins is no Prince Charming, either-I have witnessed "Justice" Robbins in Woodbridge Municipal Court as he has limited defendants to a maximum of 2-3 minutes to speak about / plead their case. So much for "getting your day in court...

Yet, the lemmings in Woodbridge will re-elect Johnny Mac and his cohorts come November, and Spencer will be granted yet another term as the Dem's lackey.

I dunno...I graduated Woodbridge High School in '81, and somehow, someway, we managed to survive plenty of very uncomfortable hot days throughout my 3 years there...

The KEY word in the blurb above is "EMPLOYEES"...I wonder how much pressure the WTA put on the district.

What is there to debate? Are you kidding me!?!? Okay, last time Tom, put down the drinks and step away from the keyboard. Better yet, keep authoring your asinine reasoned posts – it makes the REAL Republicans case for them!

If Maras had any sense whatsoever, he would realize that the ‘rhetoric’ he so despises is nothing more than tried and true Republican principles. No matter how Maras tries to color it, there is no gray – only black and white in proof.

As I stated before on numerous occasions, I support the REAL Republicans because they are just that – true to the GOP platform and principles. I am not a campaign spokesman, I do not write speeches, I don’t tell any candidates anything other than advise them – when asked. I guess Maras is so bored now with his bachelor lifestyle free from the property tax problems that he has nothing better to do other than futiley attempt to drag my name through the mud.

Why did the WTRO “select” Luban and cohorts? WHY DID THEY NOT ELECT THEM IN ANY TRUE TYPE OF SECRET BALLOT? Political opportunists with the support of the establishment non-leadership “selecting” them is certainly no reason to support anybody!

As far as the “Birther” label Maras has given me, it must really gaul him that he has done nothing in his life which amounted to anything. Being a Johnny Come Lately to the local political scene, Maras condescendingly tries to post the most backward remarks on the Internet as Gospel. Although Maras claims to have been a United States Marine, he has apparently forgotten in a drunken stupor the oath he took to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies – foreign and domestic. But, as is Maras’ personal history unverifiable, so is his military history. Like Obama, Maras is NOT forthcoming with documentation either. Maras conveniently points to his Marine Corps League membership as proof of his service, but why does he inexplicably mock me for being a “Birther” while the same life long commitment of the League to defense of our Country and Corps and way of life (Constitution) is so crassly thrown aside?

Maras does not debate the points, because the points are not debatable from his positions and certainly NOT in his favor. Instead, he libelously attacks with innuendo and fabricated statements against those not bowing to his supplied kool aid drinks. While entertaining to parry his thrusts with the truth, I am sure the good people of Woodbridge have better things to do with their time than read his illogical rants and raves which conveniently leave out major facts. You know the kind, like Councilman Luban’s flip flopping and waffling between parties to suit his personal lifestyle in the form of a $40k a year plus pension. Oh, so sorry. The truth hurts, except when washed away in liquor.

What is there to debate? How close Struben’s rhetoric is to Don Nelsen’s. At times, one might wonder if Don (The Birther) Nelsen is writing Struben’s speeches and running his campaign.
Aside from two failed attempts to be elected the Mayor of Woodbridge, why haven’t the voters seen a lot more of Mr. Struben at town council meetings, challenging the McCormac council and administration? Why did the elected committee members of the Woodbridge Township Republican Organization (WTRO) select Bob Luban and his slate over Chris Struben and his team; one of whom, while being rejected by the WTRO, claimed support from Governor Chris Christie. Somehow, it seems doubtful the Governor will be helicoptering to Woodbridge in support of the Woodbridge Town Council want to be anytime soon. In fact, beyond a side door photo op, has anyone read or heard any endorsement from the Governor for that candidate?
Recently, either Mr. Struben or one of associates made a big deal about Councilman Luban missing a vote on the Colonia Country Club. As someone who has been demonstrably against that land grab by John McCormac, it is with pleasure to note the only thing Councilman Luban missed was a vote on the transfer of the Club’s liquor license. As a resident of Colonia, one would think Mr. Struben would be more concern about the club remaining a private club, not a municipal golf course.
Woodbridge does not need talk, it needs experience and Councilman Luban has it.

Maybe you need to re-read the post. She is not being called a racist because she made a statement "he does not belong in public office", and this is not about Mr. Diaz. This is about Ms. Reinhart. Why is it that she can accused people of impersonating her without proof, but it seems no one can question her credibility. Why? Is there some thing she's afraid of? She is running for public office, not the people commenting on her as a person/candidate. Why not use the time, finance and research ability to investigate the people running for office, instead of being angry at the people who wants to know the true about their candidates. This isn't a vendetta against anyone. If Ms. Reinhart doesn't have anything to hide, then she should address the questions posed to her about her family background, etc. She mentioned in her resume her family and she mentioned in the article about parking tickets. Jane is just asking her to come forward with the truth. What is wrong with that? When you are running for office, you put yourself and your family at the mercy of the public and the public has a right to know about all their candidates and have a right to ask questions. I don't see why Ms. Reinhart should be exempt from being forth coming with the people she is asking for their votes.
